Our Staff

The Montessori Academy Nevis is staffed by vibrant, enthusiastic and dedicated teachers who povide a secure foundation for the implementation of the Montessori method and curriculum.

To continue their educational growth our teachers attend ongoing inhouse workshops as well as outside training.





Avdeep Bopari

Ms. Anup (Elementary Teacher) comes to us from Canada and gained her Bachelor‘s degree at the University of Fraser Valley. She has been involved in education for the last ten years and has worked in a number of Montessori and District led elementary schools in British Colombia. Ms Anup has worked with children in various contexts, including, special needs and behavioural issues and she also has a diploma in Child and Youth Counselling.

Denise Morgan

Ms. Denise (Head of School /Elementary Teacher) came to Nevis from England in 2007, where she was a lecturer in Business at a higher Education college in Manchester. Prior to lecturing at the college Ms. Denise worked for Foundation Degree Forward (FDF) in the area of assessment at all levels. Ms. Denise is a qualified assessor. Ms Denise brings with her the experience of teaching students at all levels and holds a Bachelor‘s degree in Business from Brunel University and an MA in Education from Manchester Metropolitan University, combining this with her Montessori training, Ms. Denise covers all areas.

Deslyn Wilkinson

Ms Wilkinson (Early Childhood Teacher) comes to us from the beautiful island of Nevis. She obtained her teaching qualifications in Trinidad and learnt about the Montessori method during her teacher training, she was impressed with the integrative learning and has used many of the principles in her teaching ever since. Ms Wilkinson has over fifteen years of experience working at early childhood and elementary level.

Ms. Vanessa C Williams

Vanessa Williams (Elementary Teacher) comes to us with a wealth of experience. She grew up in Nevis, and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education with a major in Early Childhood Development from Empire State College in New York. She worked in New York for 9 years at various elementary schools, many of which used the Montessori principles. She was the founder of The Learning Center, an early childhood program which she successfully ran for 12 years on Nevis. Ms Williams has taught at all grade levels and is a trained Kumon reading instructor. She has received awards for academic excellence and is recognized for her contributions in education in the Federation as well as overseas.

Von rica Dickenson

Specialist Teacher

Ms Dickenson (Art, Dance and Drama) comes to us from Bermuda where she was teaching at Bermuda Montessori School. She has a bachelor’s degree in Education from Clark Atlanta University and also has a Diploma in design. Ms Leonardo is a qualified dance instructor in ballet, modern and jazz and has over ten years of experience teaching children from pre-school to secondary school levels.
